The Internet has become one of the future media in the Metaverse, and its birth is worth remembering because it led to the development of a truly interconnected world.

1992 – The First Metaverse Term

Neal released “Snow Crash,” a Novel that mentioned the Metaverse. This novel tells about a human as an avatar who can interact in a 3d virtual world.
In Neal’s version, the Metaverse is a virtual space that connects all virtual worlds through the Internet and augmented reality.

2003 – Second Life

The scientist Philip Rosedale and their team, Liden, Lab-created an online virtual world called Second Life. Second Life is Metaverse Games where you, as an avatar, can do anything activities in real life. Such as watching a movie, buying or selling stuff, listening to music, playing games, etc.

2006 – Roblox

Games Online named Roblox had introduced. In these games, users can create their virtual game world. Roblox is an online game platform that allows users to program and play games created by other users. Roblox is free to play. You can access it through a virtual currency called Robux.

2009 – Bitcoin

An anonymous developer or group of developers using Satoshi Nakamoto introduced Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency and blockchain in 2009. This virtual currency is used for transactions in Metaverse, such as buying their avatar’s clothes, buying a land, etc.

2011 – Metaverse Concept

2015 – Decentraland

2016 – Pokemon Go

Metaverse Games was released named Pokemon Go. Pokémon Go is an augmented reality game on smartphones developed by Niantic, a Google-owned subsidiary, available for iOS and Android devices. Its game can show an object that doesn’t exist in real life, but it feels like it exists in real life.

2017 – Fortnite

After Pokemon Go, the next Metaverse Games was Fortnite. Fortnite is a video game by Farga Corporation with numerous game modes for every type of game player. Watch a concert, build an island, or fight.

2018 – Axie Infinity

Vietnam Sky Mavis studio developed Metaverse Game named Axie Infinity. Axie Infinity is an online video game based on NFT that users can use to fight, build, and hunt for treasure. Each Axie is unique and has qualities and strengths.

2021 – Microsoft and Facebook

Facebook and Microsoft have collaborated to develop the Metaverse. Facebook released a platform designed for virtual collaboration named Mesh, and Microsoft has changed the company name to Meta. They also reveal their plan to focus on developing the Metaverse.
