Your Gate to Everywhere

The discussion about the Metaverse is getting hyped. One of the factors was when Mark Zuckerberg officially changed his platform’s name to Meta. Many people end up confused about the original meaning of the Metaverse. Some people may consider Metaverse as one of the Facebook CEO’s new businesses. But, Metaverse is a virtual world where users interact with each other using an avatar as their identity.
7 Layers of Metaverse :
1st Layer
In a previous article, we discussed virtual characters in the Metaverse, and now we focus on the seven layers in the Metaverse. Each layer has its definition and affects productivity within the Metaverse. The first is called the surface or ‘experience.’ At this layer, ‘experience’ means the Metaverse users can experience the sophistication of technology. On the first layer, user interactions with Metaverse content are also the ‘experience.’
2nd Layer
The second layer is ‘discovery’. In the Metaverse, ‘discovery’ is an advertising network that includes store placements, rating systems, and recommendations from other users. This layer focuses on experiential learning or the result of constant informational ‘push and pull.’ ‘Push’ means a process that reminds the user of the experience while in the Metaverse. Meanwhile, the ‘pull’ represents the system inward when users actively seek information and experiences within the Metaverse.
3nd Layer
The third layer is the creator ‘economy’. This layer is designed for content creators to use all the technologies in producing multiple experiences across the multiverse. The main goal of the third layer of the Metaverse is to build an immersive 3D environment, which aims to draw visitors into it and be free to do whatever they want. It proves the potential of the Metaverse in economic development. The third layer of the Metaverse is the layer that embodies business opportunities.
4th Layer
The fourth layer is ‘spatial computing’. In this fourth layer, real and virtual spaces meet as the combination. This layer breaks the boundaries between the physical and the virtual. It creates online 3D spaces that manipulate the appearance of reality in extraordinary ways or augment real-world reality through optimizing digital and information technology. The term ‘tools’ used in the Metaverse like VR, AR, or XR refer to this layer of ‘spatial computing’.
5th Layer
The fifth layer is ‘decentralizations’. It’s an independence scheme for any lower units or managers with lower authority in the particular organizational structure. That kind of independency forms a delegation in making decisions separately and freely. The fifth layer of the Metaverse has decentralized elements such as Blockchain, smart contracts, open-source code, and digital identity.
6th Layer
The sixth layer is the ‘human interface’. This term refers to all the digital technology we use when we enter the Metaverse. The imposition of digital technology is for the sake of getting a realistic and immersive experience. It includes wearables, neural networks, virtual reality headsets, smart eyewear, and haptics.
7th Layer
The last layer of the Metaverse is the ‘infrastructures’. The definition of infrastructure of seven layers is all the technology that drives, connects, and enables our digital devices. For example, data centers, cloud computing, wireless, materials, and processing. In addition, we understand that the five clusters technology has strengthened Metaverse at this layer. Those five clusters are AI (artificial intelligence), display technology (AR, VR, MR, XR, and ER), video game technology (Unreal Engine, Unity 3D game engine), computational networks, and Blockchain.
